Helping people with something to say but who struggle to say it.

Why

Hi, I’m Elliott Richardson, your expert communications consultant.

When I was at university studying communications, I reluctantly signed up for a semester-long course in crisis and risk management. At first it felt like a detour—I had come to study journalism, dreaming of becoming the next Woodward and Bernstein. Crisis management wasn’t supposed to be my path.

But everything changed the day we stepped into a simulated PR crisis. Thrown into the chaos, I found myself unexpectedly alive. The rush of the pace, the thrill of the unpredictable, and above all the human side of the work drew me in. I loved watching teams steady themselves, choosing words and actions that calmed fear and rebuilt trust.

What surprised me most was how deeply sincere the work felt. Responding to a crisis demanded honesty, humility, and an insistence on doing what was right—not just what looked good. Protecting a reputation became less about image and more about caring for people who depended on clear, responsible communication.

That semester taught me that integrity and empathy are the greatest constellations guiding effective communication. Today I still believe that thoughtful, honest communication is not just a business tool—it’s the foundation of trust and the heart of lasting success.

What

For more than 14 years I have refined my craft and deepened my understanding of the communications landscape so I can deliver both comprehensive, end-to-end strategic plans and measured, immediate responses in moments of crisis.

I approach every client with absolute integrity and discretion, grounding my work in honesty, reliability, and a genuine commitment to their interests.

Each project is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to create work that matters. I treat clients as partners and craftsmanship as a responsibility: attentive, deliberate, and held to the highest standard.

Exceptional communication blends rigorous strategy with thoughtful creativity; I specialize in helping people who have something important to say but need help finding the right words and the right way to say them.

How

That university class was in 2015—an anchor point in a life already in motion. My first byline arrived three years earlier, in 2012, when I stepped into journalism and found, with a jolt, the electric pulse of technology and media. I chased stories through advancing screens and shifting platforms until the field widened beneath my feet and sport called me into its theatre.

I stood on the sidelines of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, reporting from the roar and mud, and later rode the heat of an Australian summer of cricket, where every boundary and wicket carried its own human drama. Between seasons I navigated institutional corridors, holding media roles at two universities, sharpening the craft of translating complexity into story.

A new chapter began in a technology company, where for four years I edited, shaped and defended the news that mattered, honing communications into a discipline of authority and clarity. Since 2022 I have operated within the crucible of government—covering news, corporate communications, and the fraught landscapes of risk, issues and crisis management—where every message must withstand scrutiny and every moment can shift the narrative.
